This rookie of The Great One survives my analysis with its dignity largely intact. Centering and corner wear place a third-tier ceiling on the eye appeal. The image being free of distraction combines with smooth edges to salvage points.
Great image of the Great One. It is clear, shows a rich color, and the background is effective. Moving to the outskirts, the borders have a pleasing blue tone, offset by the corners and edges showing noticeable wear. They give the card the sense it has some age. Centering shifted right, though not a large distraction due to the image motion right. You can see in Gretzky's eyes he's looking at the scoreboard for the replay?...
Obvious centering & corners but unusually rich blue borders & sharp focus
Centering is the key flaw followed by corner wear that enters the "noticeable zone" due to the full-bleed color design. The deep color, clean central image, and centered oil drop keep the eye appeal in the solid B Zone.
Never been a fan of this style o border for cards. That said the card is ok but the surface wear, off centering, and the nicks that wear off the blue edges/corners is a distraction for me
Iconic card in any condition but left to right centering and corner and edge wear on the bottom account for my assessment.

A βgood oneβ of The Great One. Very presentable Gretzky rook - but some flaws catch the eye and hold it to a high end C tier example: centering, bottom edge/border wear, corner wear/dog ears on the bottom.
