1971 Topps Thurman Munson #5

This 1971 Topps Thurman Munson presents far better than the typical example from this notoriously tough issue. Centering is relatively strong for the year and with a touch more balance it would comfortably sit in the A range. The photo itself looks sharp, with no visible print marks and excellent color and registration that really make the image pop. The edges show a bit too much snow and the corners are slightly soft, but for a 71 Topps it remains an excellent, genuinely eye catching copy.
The first thing that I look for with this particular card is the centering because so many of severely off-centered. This example is really outstanding from that standpoint. I can forgive the whitening on the corners and edges when the centering is like this one.
nice looking card but to much snow for my liking and the nicks on the borders and edges makes those defects stand out

Digging the centering. Standard wear for a 71 and none of that wear jolts my eye. Especially like when the black around the YANKEES is devoid of PD.
