Strong color and well-centered. Some small spots of staining on the border on the side borders.
really nice looking card with minor surface wear holding it back. The bold borders compensate for the subtle centering shift
Some edge wear and corner softness hold this back from the A grade tier for me. The image and color hard outstanding.
So tempting to go even higher here. I knew at first glance this was A Level to me. Scuff patch to the right of Mick plus low degree of tilt will keep it at a very high A-.
Wow, I could write a book on the '57 Mantle, as it is one of my favorite baseball cards of all time and I have owned many, many copies over the decades. This example is easily Top Tier to me. The centering is way above average, though still concedes some tilt. There is a small spot in the lower left side border that barely bumps me and makes minimal impact on eye appeal. The real pleasing feature of this example is its clear focus. Many 57 Micks do not have that. A scuff or abrasion under Mick's bat is the flaw that I would cite as most impactful. Overall, over of the better 57 Micks.
