Centering is great. A little tilt, but better than 90% of other 52 Mantles. The surface issues really hurt the eye appeal though.
Would be solidly into the B-tier if not for chin scuff. Still over delivers.
The scuff marks on the Commerce Comets chin are unfortunate. When thinking about eye appeal, if they were on his bat or jersey, it would do wonders for the eye appeal IMO. Nice centering and good color are the upside on this iconic card.
The centering does a lot for me here.. After that it's just an expectedly aged and historical card that I don't think deserves a 1 as far as eye appeal.
Like the bold borders and the close centering and even cleanliness of the borders. The white speckling is to much as it effects the image and coloring
A high C+ which is high performance for a 1. Shout out to the centering and there being no major wrinkles. Less scuff and this was a B- for me.
I like the centering and it certainly over-delivers in eye appeal relative to most 1s. The abrasions on the chin, thankfully that avoided his facial features, yet were that wear lower or on the bat, that would have been ideal. As is, that aspect does take down the eye appeal a few notches. This is a nice, solid 1, end of the day.

Wonderful centering and uniformly rounded corners, but the surface wear is punishing.
