It's not a science, so all I can say here is the tilt, centering, horizontal creases, and eye scuff adversely impact the overall eye appeal. But from a casual distance it feels like top of the C Zone.
Centering is above average though the tilt that is so common distracts. There seems to be a scuff in his left eye that also distracts me. Still, lands in the very respectable B Tier.
Centering is above average but has some tilt. The creases are the main issue, but the card still presents well.
Nice copy! Everything is close but just a touch away from the next level.
Such a pretty card. There is a mark in his eye I do find distracting. That and centering are the only issues here. Without the eye mark this is solid B, a tick better centering and B+. That's how nice it is.
I love this card. I know there are some surface issues/wrinkles but an incredible PSA 1.
Overall, a very nice looking card for the technical grade. I do not care for wrinkles or creases through the subject's face, but these are not too intrusive. Very nice color and decent centering for the grade, although there is certainly some tilt, as many 52 Topps Mantles exhibit.
lines across his neck and chin are the first things I see but they are not dramatic. The Borders are nice and bold. white but not as bright as others and centering is slightly off but nice

Very nice card, bold colours and decent centering though I noticed a tilt relatively quickly. The surface issue on the face however holds this out of the A tier.
