1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253

Very nice centering and color. The print lines hold it back.

The train tracks running across the center are super distracting. Nice qualities otherwise, but none of that matters unfortunately.

A great card but the print lines stand out. Centering is better than a lot of these but still off left to right with a tilt. Registration is a little off, and there's some minor corner wear and wax stains on the back. All common issues for this card, but this example has a little of each.

I was leaning straight B for eye appeal here, yet the centering and registration do shine through those dreaded print lines to a good extent. The result is a rather high grade of B+ for aesthetics here. Luckily the left most of the two lines is rather faint and I believe would not bug me too much in casual everyday viewing.

A Centering A+ Color C- Registration & surface Excellent color & registration but the trolley tracks / print defect lines are too distracting. Unfortunately, the print defects also discolor part of Mantle’s face & neck. Even from 18” away, the print defects will be noticeable
