1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253

This Mickey Mantle true rookie showcases excellent color balance and crisp registration, with only minor centering concerns. The white border does display some scuffing and wear, yet the bold contrast of the black-to-white nameplate adds significant visual punch. Overall, it delivers strong eye appeal and earns a solid B grade — with improved centering, it would comfortably land in the A tier.
Slightly undergraded given how strong the card is within the borders. Vertical centering issues are off putting but still manages to hold appeal.
The clean black name plate is a plus, along with ideal registration/focus. If you get to know this card's population deeply, this is really a strong example. The top bottom centering is the only thing that detracts from the overall eye appeal. I don't anticipate giving out many grades above B+ on the 1951 Bowman Mantle. I'd be shocked if I find 15 in the total pop that break into the A-zone.
Front of card looks good with only slightly off center and colors pop. The back has a blemish but overall great look
No roller marks and super sharp focus. Only drawback is slight t/b centering. This one punches well above its technical grade.

Focus, color, and registration of looking top notch. Of center top to bottom but still a clean looking card.
