1933 Goudey Lou Gehrig #92

Tough card to assess. The writing certainly draws the eye and affects the eye appeal, and there's a registration shift. But overall the image and surface are pleasing. Gonna stay in the second level here with the asterisk that without the writing this is A- to me.

This is an A+ without the writing. Heck, even if the writing was o the back it would get an A+.

This is so clean… ugh that writing. Still deserving of a high eye appeal score for me, but certainly an acquired taste.

Interesting card. Without that writing, obviously, the eye appeal soars. But I am impressed with how high I think the eye appeal is even with the writing. The surface and especially the detail visible in his face are fantastic. The centering is just a bit off to the top. For a pleasing image of the classic blue Goudey Lou this is a savvy call!

The colors really stand out and love how the face is focused. The writing really does detract from the beautiful image.

the writing on the card is noticeable and a shame as the card is nice. luckily the writing is kinda hidden and is not so bold and glaring as the card image and colors are good and the card centering is an opportunity but nice sized borders. The writing holds it down but the card is nice otherwise
