Overall pleasing yet as one looks longer at it, the side centering and corners emerge as areas of possible improvement.

Nice card for the grade. Colors are a bit dull.

A nice overall copy, but color seems a bit off when comparing to the highest eye appeal examples on the site. Each corner worn to the same degree. With that said, not too many of these floating around and I'd love to own it

This is a card I would grab and enjoy. Maybe I would pay to upgrade the centering but that would be it, so this would likely be a forever copy, for my collection.

Hard to find a better copy of this monster. Slight off centering.

Condition issues from borders, edges lack of eye appeal as I am big into borders but the colors and details on the image are strong

This example falls on the lower end of the eye appeal spectrum for the issue. There are four noticeable surface flaws, most prominently in the upper right corner of the image and along the upper left edge. While the centering favors the upper right, it is not to an extreme degree and remains within an acceptable range. A key idiosyncrasy of this card lies in the depiction of Joshua Gibson’s skin tone. In this example, it appears as a lighter brown with a subtle greenish undertone. This effect results from a printing flaw where the red ink layer is weaker than intended. In the printing process, Gibson’s brown skin tone is created through a combination of red, yellow, and black dots. When the red layer is faint or missing, the remaining yellow and black dominate, blending to produce an olive-green or greenish-brown hue when viewed from a distance. This imbalance diminishes the overall visual appeal compared to examples with richer, more natural coloration. This is the same card that was originally an SGC 4 (Cert: 1215161-001). Both versions are pictured on the site, as SGC has unfortunately not removed the card from their population report.
