I cannot get past the torn corner and how dirty/dingy the card looks.
This card looks great to me aside from the notable top right corner. Can't ask for much better centering.. Front has limited defects which leaves you just appreciating the important parts of the card itself.
When reviewing really rare cards such as this, you have to appreciate the fact that: a) this issue rarely can be found with a clean back, without scrapbook removal damage; and b) the card is probably 1/1 -- of one of the most popular players to collect (probably second after Babe Ruth). So to me, this card deserves a much higher grade than simple eye appeal. That I can even see it at all gets me into the A range.
This card carries a timeless appeal, with image quality that feels remarkably crisp for its age. The centering leans left, though not in a way that overwhelms the eye, and the text remains clear and well-presented. The lone flaw is the bent upper-right corner, which does draw some attention, yet it cannot diminish the overall presence of the piece. For a vintage example of this stature, the combination of strong color, sharp clarity, and dignified aging makes it a truly beautiful card to admire.
Great image. Decent EA for an old cert 2. O/c, rough top right corner, issues on back, etc. detract a bit.
great looking card, off centered and the top right corner brings it down but still a great card.
Really love the image and the centering is nice as well. That top right corner is all that detracts. Great clean surface as well.
A bit off center and the upper right corner are all that detract from an otherwise great looking example of a super tough prewar grail. This guy certainly looks great for his age!
Incredibly rare issue that gets a bump on that basis alone, but the card itself appears to be fairly graded with some obvious cosmetic flaws. That said, the image of Shoeless Joe is strong and thatβs what matters most to my eyes.

Having this one in any condition is a dream for most. But it's not an eye appeal candidate because of the centering, the cut, and that top right corner.
