The vertical marks are very prominent yet much of the rest is so nice; the horizontal crease is rather easy on the eye. If not for those marks the eye appeal would be much higher to me.
It's not a F but the stain hurts this card. Take that away, and it's a different card. Take the crease away and it's even a better one.
Stain and crease are a major issue. If only they were placed on Babe’s body and far away from his face.
Nice color and the centering is a little off but still decent. I could live with that crease as well as it doesn't impact the appeal much. If it weren't for those two vertical stains, especially the one on his face, I'd be in the A- / B+ range.
wow those creases and those 2 vertical smudge lines especially drop it down. A shame as the colors are vibrant especially the yellow and the borders are off but better than most
Without those vertical marks the overall eye appeal would really transcend the crease quite a bit to me, as it is well placed and blends in. Might even hit the bottom of the second tier of badges then. The yellow is clean and bright, which is a key to this card for me. The issue is those two veritcal marks that are hard to ignore.

High volume damage is detected, and in the area to which the eye is most drawn. This dampens eye appeal more than the horizontal crease. The yellow background features no readily apparent soiling or abrasions, which would make for a highly desirable #53 Goudey Ruth, if not for the severe facial damage.
