I887. Makes you wish you could see this card's life in fast forward. If there is indeed a flaw here, beyond mild corner wear that is hidden from the naked eye by the card's coloring, I sure cannot detect it. The eye appeal is simply 100%.
Racism aside, this is a good looking card and I hope I age as good as this when I'm 138.
Cap would approve if I check the date a few times… This example gleams with a stark whiteness that feels surreal for the issue and date. Registration is exact with no wandering lines or stray print specks. Edges hold firm, corners are razor true, and the surface presents with quiet authority. It reads like a time traveler, lifted from 1887 and sealed yesterday in that chunky black slab of plastic. Eye appeal sits comfortably in God Tier with some room to spare.
WTF... Not going to lie, I had to look this up. I thought this might've been a test submission using a 21st century A&G card, before I looked up and saw the actual slab.. Nope, just a legit 19th century card.
This is a Wow and a Wow. Amazing that a card from 1887 could be so clean and so white and so sharp in the details and the image. Only noticeable blemish is a spot dead center on the back but with a front like this no one is looking in the back
