The earlier era bold signature steals the show. Easy to forgive some of the obvious nicks.
High eye appeal overall, primarily thanks to that auto. The top right damage obviously impacts eye appeal along with centering, but the side centering is great and the autograph is fluid and pretty. I don't mind how that one pen stroke glances his neck and ear, as it misses his face.
A classic! The damage on the top right is the first thing that catches my eye. I also don’t love how part of the signature covers his face.
High eye appeal right here. The auto is so well placed and legible on this one, I do not find myself dwelling much on the top right wear. That auto keeps the eye there and on Mike.
The centering and top right wear to tug at my eye, yet the autograph is so damn good. I like the angled placement and love that style of his auto. It also just missed his face, which is critical for me on signed vintage. (Man, this being vintage makes me feel old!) Without the top right edge wear or if centered lower, this is solidly in the A tier of eye appeal for me. High B+.
More chipping than I like around the borders as that stands out against the colors of the border. The centering left/right and size of the borders are good enough for me. The Autograph by itself is really nice and vintage Jordan. The placement is not best for me and in addition the autograph blends into the card to much which hides it a bit and takes away from the overall appeal
Upper edge wear is a bit obtrusive and the top bottom centering pulls the eye away from what might be one of the strongest playing days autos I’ve seen on an 86 fleer. The Star may be the bigger and more scarce signed early MJ but I’m not sure most understand how tough it is to land an 86 fleer with eye appeal. If that auto was placed just a hair lower this would have snuck into the A- range despite the card’s flaws. Still a phenomenal museum level piece with that 80s signature in bold black.
Nice dark auto. The corner surface wear on the upper right hold it back for me

Any signed Jordan rookie is a great card to own. The signature is bold and looks good, although I would prefer it not to cover so much of his image. The card is a little off center with some damage on the top, but overall it just works.
