This is majestic, regal, monumental, pick the word. The image and the auto command full attention, and do mitigate the one loud flaw of centering. I've read here somewhere that some cards transcend both eye appeal and technical issues and this is one of them. The eye appeal is impacted by centering yet buoyed by the other great attributes.
Itβs humbling to even attempt to review a card like this one. A signed Goudey by the Bambino is a true dream for virtually any but the most privileged vintage collector. This is a beautiful example with a bold auto and color on the card. No need to point out the flaws in the card itself because the autograph is the main attraction here and itβs a beauty.
If only this wasn't written on lol. Seriously though, stunning auto in both quality and placement and the image and colors are top tier. Centering is the only issue.
This is my favorite image on a prewar card, and to have one signed would be incredible. The auto is faded in a few spots and the card has centering and registration issues. They wouldn't bother me though.
The rarity of these autographed Goudeys make the look almost un-important But the colors on this card are strong and image solid. The autograph is well placed and bold and beautiful but not his cleanest as the "Babe" is not complete The card is off center (as most of these are) and mis sized borders effects the overall eye appeal. But Great overall look and someone has an amazing card in their collection
I love the big sig and the detail in his face. Centering I have to say is extreme so the eye appeal on this monster card is still a high B+.
Bold colors. Auto is good but has some light spots. Centering L/R draws my eye.

The non eye appeal aspects of this card are monumental: Uncle Jimmy provenance, and a well-conditioned Goudey held and signed by Babe. The centering unfortunately is extreme enough where the eye appeal is capped at the B Tier. It maxes out in that tier for me, though, due to the clean surface and big signature. Seeing any signed Goudey with no wrinkles and square corners always wows me.
