Surface issue above his head is the only thing bringing this out of "god tier" for me. What a card!
I don't love this example due to the smudged and light signature. But still pretty damn good!
Perfect centering, this would be a nice card to own even if it wasn't signed. The signature is a little smudged but these are so rare signed that it wouldn't bother me at all.
This is great and very close to GT, just wish his face were a bit clearer.
Fading to the ink but the overall presentation is pretty, with the centering and focus being standouts alongside the inscription. Having top level eye appeal on a card of this significance is amazing.
One of the better centered of the Goudey Autographed Ruth Cards which adds to its overall appeal but the marks on the top of the card hurt its eye appeal The autograph is well placed but not bold do to its fading and not as clean as other of his autographs Great card to have and nice eye appeal but held back from the A Level for the above thoughts
Been shopping for one of these unsigned for quite some time now. This card without the sig is my dream, because the face has detail and the centering is great. The sig being on it from Ruth himself blows my mind. The one eye appeal thing I have to mention is the fading and how part of BABE vanishes into his sock but my main reaction to this is: BEAUTIFUL.
One of the prettier examples of this monumental signed card. The inscription adds a ton of charm, and is the only time I have seen it on a signed Goudey Babe. The centering and focus in his face are hard to find even in an unsigned copy. The fading of the auto is all that prevents an even higher eye appeal badge for me, as that stray mark does not impact my enjoyment of this piece. Looking at this now, I realize it is probably one of the most important baseball cards that exists.
Beautiful card and well-centered. The boldness of the auto hold it back a bit for me.

The stray mark by his head and how the lower case b disappears do bring down the eye appeal a bit here. The focus, centering and inscription really create both eye appeal and personality.
