A nicely centered Babe auto really hides awful centering. Compared to another copy, this doesn't stack up well; On it's own, a serious collectible
Centering is horrible, registration is off. But his signature is beautiful, even though this one is a bit duller than others. Auto should probably be an 8
Canβt hide the off centering in this one. Also image is fuzzy with some noise behind his head. Auto is very nice giving it the extra +.
This is a tough one where, without the autograph, the card standing alone would be towards the bottom of my scale for eye appeal, but my goodness that auto!! Such a beautiful and bold signature that I have to bump my assessment up and give precedence to the autograph over the miscut card.
So we're doing X-rated posts on this site now? It's not the best, but it's up there. There's simply not enough of these. But think of the moment that a kid brought his Babe card to the Sultan outside the House He Built. He was in his twilight years, but that also meant he was at the peak of his fame and aura. He placed it well. Too bad Goudey couldn't get that kid a better registered, centered card, but that kid did all he could and more to make this one of the best cards in the hobby.
Great looking auto and even for a centering guy, I find myself just staring with enjoyment at this piece-- the beauty is in the pairing of that image of a pinstriped Babe and his stylish signature. Will a modern player ever have penmanship like George Herman?!
As a card alone this one would rank relatively lower on my eye appeal scale but the auto pops and draws the eye.
Amazing corners edges and surface looks great too. Obviously the centering throws the EA off but for a 3MC I still like it. LOVE the auto.

Good shape, but very off center. Autograph is 8/9.
